natural bridge
Hi Kahunas, I stayed at a very nice camp last night. It was called Natural Bridges State Park . I had to make sure I put away all my bananas and peanuts in case there were any bears around camp. There was a river in camp and I went for a walk. I saw kids playing in the river and lots of butterflies playing on the ground. There was a sky lift to take you to the top of the mountain. At the top was a natural bridge. I had to climb through a slot in the mountain and then up some stairs and then I was standing on the top. I felt like I was as high as the birds. I climbed down the mountain and my legs were very tired. I will write again tomorrow. Aloha from Junior

corvettes and caves
Hello Kahunas, I bet you are very busy getting ready for the end of the school year. I bet your heads are just full of all the things you have learned from Miss Cavanaugh and your other teachers. I am learning too. I went to a Corvette Museum. That is a kind of car that goes really fast and looks really cool too. I went into the Kids Zone and got to work on play cars. I worked on the engine, and underneath on a platform that slides underneath the car. It is called a creeper. I worked on an assembly line putting on tires and the went to a diner for a treat and then took a rest in a big tire. I saw big engines and I saw what the inside of a car seat looks like. There was a giant picture of a Corvette, but when I looked closely at it, I discovered it was made with thousands of little pictures of people that have Corvettes of their own. I tried to find a picture of my friend Carol because she used to have a Corvette, but there were too many pictures. I found a little painted Corvette outside that I liked but I decided if I drove by myself, Cmor would miss me and I would miss him too.
I went to another park about Abraham Lincoln. This one was where he was born. There were 56 steps leading up to his house. One step for each year of his life. The building I climbed up to was not the house where he lived. Inside was a replica of his house in the same place he was born. They put it inside a big building to protect it. The big building had 16 windows and 16 flower rosettes on the ceiling to help us remember he was our 16th President. I went for a walk down the bottom of the hill to a little spring where water came out. That was where Abraham Lincoln and his family got water in buckets to carry up the hill to their cabin. That was a long way to go.
I found another Dinosaur Land and played for awhile. One tried to pretend he would bite me but I was not afraid. I met a baby in an egg. It was a girl baby, so I named her Julie. Isn't that silly?
The next day I went into Mammoth Cave National Park. Did you know that National Parks belong to all of us in America. That means that all of you are part owners of caves and waterfalls and campgrounds and beautiful mountains. They are for all of us to enjoy. There are lots of caves in Mammoth Cave Park and I went in two of them. It is very dark inside and there are lots of stairs to climb up and down. A ranger walked in front of us and one in back of us, so no one would get lost. I went into a museum and saw models of the caves and met a turtle. I liked the caves but I like the sunshine too. I will tell you more later.

Branson Part two
Hello Kahunas, I have been a very busy monkey. I stayed at a camp in Branson Missouri for a whole week. It was a big party. We had a very big tent and Country Western, Cowboy singers came to sing for us. They let me sit on the stage with their instruments. There were lots of people in camp and one day a man went up in a big lift and took our pictures. When I get home, maybe I can show it to you. There were lots of motorhomes like Cmor there so I put Mickey Mouse magnets on him so I knew which one to go into. Did any of you ever go into the wrong classroom or house? One night a very famous group of singers called The Platters came to camp. They had very fancy clothes on. They all wanted to meet me and hold me so I let them. Their drummer let me play his drums.
I went to a show called the Dixie Stampede. I could not take pictures inside. It was a big arena with tables all around where everyone sat for dinner. While we ate there was a big show in the middle with Bison, and horses and covered wagons and lots of horses and trick riders. There was a beautiful colorful eagle flying around and I found out it was really a girl dressed up. I wonder how she flew around. When I was walking around the town, I saw lots of other buildings where they had shows. One had a giant King Kong on A big building. That was the biggest monkey I ever saw. I saw a big ship called The Titanic. It was really a theater and museum that looked like a ship. It was kind of like the building was wearing a costume.
When I left Branson I drove north on Highway 65 to Highway 60 and went to Mansfield to visit the home of one of my favorite authors. Her name was Laura Ingalls Wilder. I think some of you may have seen her books or even the TV shows called Little House on The Prairie. They are Children stories about pioneer life long ago. They were written in the Little Stone House and in The White Farmhouse. I went inside both houses and the museum. Her books are written in many different languages so children all over the world can read them. I got to sit in an Amish wagon. When I left there I drove East on Highway 60 and then I was in another State again. I was going to stay there but when I looked on a map, I discovered that I was near the Town of Metropolis. I had to cross another border and go to another state. This town is the home of one of my favorite Super Heros. He let me borrow his costume. How do you think I look? Don't I look big and strong? I found a statue of Lois Lane. She is his girl friend. Then after I played there for awhile, I found an old fort. It is called Fort Massac. It is on the shore of The Ohio River. It was there to protect people. Inside was a uniform that American soldiers used to wear when George Washington was president. There was a boat there that the French people used and I sat in it for a little pretend ride. My last thing that day was to cross the border again and visit the Jefferson Davis monument, just past Hopkinsville. It was very, very tall and looked like a giant pencil pointing into the sky. It has an elevator inside. Jefferson Davis was a president of our country when the North and South were divided. He was president of the Confederacy, which was the South. This is where he was born. It is only 100 miles from where Abraham Lincoln was born. He was President of the North and then the only president. It has been a long week for this little monkey so goodbye for now Kahunas. Love from Junior
