Good morning Kahunas, I went back to Missouri to a town called Joplin. I went for a little walk and found Grand Falls. It was fun climbing around on the rocks. I was very careful and did not get wet. Cmor was a little nervous because he had to drive over a little bridge that had no railings on it, but he went very slowly. I went to the city hall and saw some murals. The sidewalks look like they are made with legos. I went to a wonderful National Park Monument for George Washington Carver. He is one of my favorite people in history. He was born a slave but became a famous scientist and friend to people all over the world. He spent his whole life helping other people. He studied and learned how to teach people to grow their own food and use the things they already had to make their lives better. He was an artist, and loved all of nature. He always had a flower on his jacket. He lived as a little boy in the woods where the park is now. He spent his days playing in the trees and creeks and learning about nature. I saw his laboratory, a movie about him and the wagon he drove around to teach farmers. I walked for a mile around his park and saw his house and statues of him and where he used to play. It was raining very hard so I could not take pictures outside.
When I left there, I went to another beautiful place. It was the Precious Moments Chapel. I think all of you have seen pictures or statues of Precious Moments Children. The artist wanted to build a chapel and beautiful garden to share with everyone. He painted 75 little angels on the ceiling and there were many stained glass windows that were made in Redding California. That is about 4 hours from your school. The artists name is Samuel J. Butcher. He lives in a house next to the garden and has lots of Grandchildren. He made a little island for them with a castle on it. It is called Grandpa's Island. I think those kids are pretty lucky. I would like to have an Island, wouldn't you? I wonder what adventures I will have tomorrow. Aloha from Junior.
