Santa and arch

Hello again Kahunas, I've been busy traveling a long way again. I started the day in Louisville in Kentucky. Then Cmor went west again on Highway 64 and went back into another state. After we drove for awhile it really started to rain. We found a place called Rudolph's campground. It was in the town of Santa Claus. Isn't that a funny name for a town. I went to bed early because there was so much rain and thunder. When I woke up it was kind of gloomy but I went for a walk and went to the town center.  I found lots of Santas to take my picture with. There was a very big park there with rides but it was raining again so I did not want to get wet. Sock monkeys do not like to get soggy.
We drove and drove and stayed on  highway 64 until we got to another state. The city we stayed in is called St. Louis. Can you find it on your map? Saint louis was the edge of where most people lived when our country was very new. Then people decided to go west and start new farms and cities. Saint Louis was called The gateway to the west. In the 1930's The city built a beautiful huge archway to celebrate all the people that went west from here. I got into a little egg shaped pod and it carried me way up inside the arch to the very top. Only five people can fit in each egg. When I got out at the top and looked out the little windows I felt like I could see all the way to your classroom. I could see the baseball stadium where there were starting a game and I could see the big riverboats and I could see across the Mississippi River to where I left Cmor. He did not want to go into the Big City so I took a train to the arch. After I looked all over I went back down in another egg pod and found a model of the pod. I could see how it worked with little wheels on the top. I like to see how things work.
There was a museum there and I met an Indian and saw a stagecoach and I met a big cow. Do you think he was a short horned cow or a long horn?  I even got to try a big wheel that was used to steer big ships.

I went for a little walk and saw the riverboat again. I decided to go on it. It was really fun. Because it has been raining so much here, the river is much higher than it usually is. I saw the very top of a statue that was almost all underwater. Can you see it? I looked way up at the arch and saw the little windows that I looked out of.  They are building a new bridge and my boat went under it. There were big flat barges that needed tug boats to help them move. After the boar ride I went to the old courthouse. There are lots of horses and carriages here for people to ride in but I decided to walk. I saw another beautiful dome inside the courthouse. I liked the reflections of the old courthouse on a new building. I am getting tired now so I am going to get on a train and go see Cmor. Bye for now Kahunas from Junior.
