day 7 Still Idaho

Good morning everyone. I am in Rexburg Idaho and I just woke up. I was too tired last night to write so I am doing it now. When we woke up yesterday we had a big surprise. There were lots of birds and wild rabbits in our camp. The birds were in the trees right over Cmor. We heard things dropping on Cmor. We thought they were acorns or seeds but we were wrong. Guess what the noise was on our roof.  I will give you a hint. When I went outside there were yucky white spots all over my poor friend. I had to give him a bath. Those birds were not very nice but they were good singers.

We went to a State Park called Massacre park. This was a place the early pioneers chose to camp at when they were crossing our country to find new homes. Try to use your imagination and pretend you are in a wagon train. There were no TV's, no stores, no mailman, and no telephones. No radio or newspapers. There wasn't even very much paper of any kind. When people wanted someone to know they had passed this way, they sometimes carved their names on the rocks.  Often the Dad' would travel first to find a home and later when the Mom' s and kids came, they would see their Dad's name and know he was okay.  Register roch has lots of names and dates carved on it. It has a fence around it so no one climbs on it or tries to destroy any of the carvings. I could have climbed over the fence but I was a good monkey. I found another rock that had a small wall and little fence around it. Down at the bottom were carvings done by a 7 year old boy. His name said JJ Hansen. He also drew a picture of an indian head and a preacher. Try to look hard to see the pictures. They are over a 100 years old and are hard to see.

Then we went to the Potatoe Museum. Idaho is famous for growing the potatoes we eat. McDonalds potatoes come from Idaho. We are high up in the mountains now and the museum is way higher than the top of Mt. Diablo. I saw a Mr. Potatoe head collection and lots of potatoe mashers. Do any of your mom's or grandma's mash potatoes? First you have to peel off the kin and I saw lots of peelers too. I especially liked seeing the world's largest Pringle potatoe crisp. It was as big as 80 regular chips. Outside was the worlds biggest potatoe.

Oh my goodness, the next museum in Rigby was wonderful. It was the home of Philo Farnsworth. He was the man that invented TV. He was only 15 when he drew a sketch on the board for his teacher of how TV would work. As he grew up he invented many other things too. In the museum I saw an old refrigerator and a wringer washing machine. I got my paw caught in the place where you squeezed the water out of your clothes. Washing clothes is sure easier now. I finished the day looking at Idaho Falls. They are not very tall but they are wide.

This was a long blog and now I am hungry for my breakfast so I will say goodbye and I am off on another adventure. Bye from Junior.
