Hi everyone. good morning from Junior the sock monkey. I went to the museum again because I had so much fun there. I think my favorite thing wasa half bison. It lookd like a regular bison until I walked around the other side and then I could see that the Taxidermist had cut it in half. Does anyone kmow what a taxidermist is? I could see all the bones inside and behind the bones was a scene with hills and trees and even tiny little bison. It was really interesting. I like to see the bones because then I know wht helps all of us move and holds us up inside. Almost every living thing has bones in it. I saw the lab where the museum people work and also some fossil bone hunters. Does anyone know what a sabre is? I saw a sabertooth tiger skelton..Liik at the bones picture nd try to figure out why it was called a sabertooth. They are extinct now. I also saw a very large mammoth tooth. Mammoths has four huge teeth to grind grass and other vegetation. I am sure glad I don't have to brush teeth that are that big. And that tooth was so big and brown it looked like a rock. It really needed a good brushing.
I saw a row of skulls from a red fox, a coyote, a gray wolf and a dire wolf that is also extinct now. The Gray wolves were hunted in Yellowstone until they were all gone. Then the rangers decided they would bring them back so they got wolves from other places, put them in big strong cages and now there are wolves in Yellowstone again. I saw mountain lion bones and a large mountain goat. I sure liked that museum. I hope you like my pictures. Love from Junior.
